Jeremy challenged me last week to see if we could go without grocery shopping the rest of the month. I got to thinking about it and now I want to see if I could do it! Obviously, we will need to pick up a few staple items: milk, coffee (yes, that is a staple in our house!)...things like that. I have stockpiled on pasta, spaghetti sauce, chicken breast ($1.77/lb. at Sam's!) and ground beef. We also have a ton of frozen veggies and bread in the freezer. So, the next few menus may not be the most creative, but I know we have everything we need right now to make it.
As far as the reviews from last week's menu, the Crock-Pot Chiken Chili was great! I doubled it and we munched on it during the weekend. So, it will be added to our list of favorites. The Crock-Pot Fried Rice was a little mushy, but still tasted okay. And the Spiced Pumpkin Bread, well, just read my review here. I couldn't wait to tell you about it! We also used Amy's taco meat recipe, which is now the recipe I will use for all of our tacos. And the Bruschetta-Stuffed Chicken is Jeremy's second favorite meal. I guess it was a good week!
Without further ado, here is my menu:
Monday: Shepard's Pie and Green Beans
Tuesday: Chili Topped Potatoes and Corn
Wednesday: Sloppy Joes, Mixed Veggies and Oranges
Thursday: BBQ'd Grilled Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli
Friday: Spaghetti & Homemade Garlic Bread
Saturday: Ham & Beans in the Crock-Pot with cornbread. We will munch on this all day.
Sunday: Leftovers
Snacks: Peanut Butter Crackers, Leftover Oranges & Cheerio Bars
