{life happens}

I probably sound like a broken record, but this week has been nuts!

Jeremy's dad has surgery on both of his legs this past Monday. The surgery was in St. Louis and they planned to put a stint in one of his veins. Come to find out, a stint would not work so they planned on doing a by-pass on the vein. They opened up the other legs for the vein and that vein had an anuerism in it as well! After putting two 'plastic' veins in both legs, his legs are cut from lower calf all the way up to the groin area. Ouch! He is home and resting now...and from what I can understand, is still in a bit of pain...understandably. I would greatly appreciate good vibes and prayers you can send his way!

Secondly, I had my second appointment in St. Louis on Thursday for my little issue. I don't want to get in on the details, but I go back to St. Louis for another appointment on Wednesday. Can you say a prayer for me, m'kay?

Third, microbiology is kicking my butt! I literally studied for 16 hours for this last test and will be happy with a 'C'. (It might be helpful if the study guide for the test might actually be the questions on the test, but I guess people's logic might not think the same about that.)

And last but not least, rugby is back. I am not a good wife during rugby. Especially when all of the above is going on. I miss my husband.

Seriously, I miss him. I have hardly seen him lately. Between class and doctors and hospitals and studying, I feel like we have barely communicated at all this past week.

In a weird and twisted way, I happy happy to know that I miss him. Sometimes you get in to a groove and just stay that way, and not seeing him lately makes me know how much I do love him.

Okay, that is it for now. The girls are calling and their bellies are growling. Lunchtime!

Well, that was a nice little break...

Or maybe not.

It has been a big week! I had a MRI, a doctor's appointment, Macie's first day of 2nd grade (!) and another doctor's appointment an hour and a half north.

We will start with the first...

MRI came back. The gist of our appointment with my regular ENT went something like this...

"The lump that is in your mouth is a lymph node on top of your saliva gland. I don't think you have cancer. Most tumors do not move. We can remove your entire gland if you want. It will leave a scar on the outside of your face. If not, I will see you in a month."

Jeremy and I left confused. At first, the doctor called back with the MRI results and said it is the gland that is the lump. Not the lymph node on top of it.

Once they bring up that C-word, I get a little more cautious.

We left thinking we want a second opinion, just to be sure. Yesterday, we got in to another doctor who has a office at Barnes. He said there is a small chance it is cancer, although he is leaning more toward the fact that it is not. He wants be to see his colleague who deals with saliva gland tumors. He said if anyone would know, this doctor would. That appointment is on September 17 at Barnes.

I love doctors...

In my heart, I know everything is fine. I am not too worried about it. But since that word came up by the doctors, Jeremy and I wanted to make sure. Since the doctor in St. Louis brought it up to see his colleague, I am relived I am not hallucinating. The MRI did show something...they are just not sure what it is. I am just ready to be done with doctors, this lump to go down and get on with it!

On to better things! MJ started second grade! Can you believe it? I will have pictures soon, but not now. She loves it...her teachers, seeing her friends...everything.

I love that she loves it.

We have a concert it St. Louis this weekend...Nickelback, Theory of a Dead Man and Papa Roach. So excited...it will be a fun group with all our friends.

Fall classes started back....which means I am off to read my chapters. Ugh.

I have a second grader...whoa.

Slowly but surely, we are getting our school supplies ready. Jeremy and I have three concerts in August so it will be a hectic month for sure!

Macie and I went school supply shopping last week and her back pack and lunch box is in the mail, courtesy of The Gap.

I am kind of digging the fact she wanted a messenger bag. I think they are super cute! She is at that tough age where you are not sure if the style/pattern is too "little kiddy" or is it too "big kid". I just listen to what she wants and hope it works!

Finals are next week and then life will be back to normal for a little bit.

Day by day...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today is Macie & Zoa Valentine's Day parties. Earlier in the week, I found these valentines. They are so cute so yesterday that was my mission. Emily stuffed the bags for me...thanks Em!! Last night, we tied the bows and connected it all. They turned out great!!

My pictures I have are not the greatest, but I will show you a box full of the finished product...

We also made the teacher's valentines and once again, the lighting in the new house is not the greatest so the pictures are really dark. But you have the link to look at them.

I know I have talked about Family Fun in the past, but it really does have some really cute ideas! If you don't get the magazine, you can look at all their crafts and other things online.

Happy Valentine's Day!

School pictures and some randomness...

Today, Macie has her first grade pictures. Last night, like we have always done before any school picture, we went shopping for a new outfit. For picture day, they get a dress down day so they may wear whatever they want. Macie loves to dress up on her dress down day. We went to Kohl's and found the cutest dress. I actually wish they had it in my size! I cannot wait to see how the pictures turn out.

Tonight, we are headed to eat and chow down on all kinds of fair food the fair. We are going with some friends of ours so we should have a good time.

Way of subject and way too late, Kara has tagged me for a meme. I am supposed to list six random things about me. Here we go, in no particular order:

1. I eat my food one thing at a time. Say we are having chicken, asparagus and a roll. I will eat all my chicken, then all my asparagus and then my roll. I don't really plan it this way, but I always seem to do this.

2. I do not like cheeseburgers. My hamburgers must be plain with only salt and pepper. I like macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese, Cheez-Its and other cheese flavored things, but never really like cheese on my hamburgers. I am to the point now that I may very well like it, but why try now? It's extra calories in my book.

3. I am a night owl. I come home tired but get my second wind about 8:00 or 9:00. Every night, it never fails. That's when I decide to start my laundry, dishes...

4. I really really really want to be a stay at home mom. Enough said.

5. Sometimes, I tune my children out. I hear what they say, but it does not register. I don't mean to do it, but I am not sure how to fix it. Am I a bad mom?

6. I want to live. Jump out of an airplane? I would love to! Bungee jump? Count me in! I am all for adrenaline rushes.

Now, your turn. Anyone and everyone is invited to do this. Let me know if you decide to do it.

Ready, Set, Stage!

This weekend holds a lot of organization. (If this dang headache will go away!) I want to clean out the closets, including our hall closet. It is the one for all our linens, bath towels, and whatever else we have that does not have an official home. Looks like my night is planned out for me!

Saturday, we are having a stager/interior decorator come take a peek at our house. We are not sure sure what we are doing wrong. Everything is non-cluttery (is that a word?) in our house. Hopefully, she will give us some insight on what to do to make our house more appealing to the eye.

That evening, we will be heading over to our friends' house, Adam and Desera. Adam and Jeremy have been friends for years, and it just so happen Desera and I clicked very well too. They used to be neighbors of ours so we don't see them as often as we like, but when we get together, we make up for lost time. The kids play and the grown-ups do their thing, (and I get to hold Broderick for hours) so everyone is happy.

Something else I wanted to mention, please take a look at the right side of my blog. Good Search is a search engine that let's you pick an organization that can benefit from you using their website. Go look at it, it's pretty neat. It is powered from Yahoo so it is a good search engine. And if you don't have a foundation or charity you would like to help, use the one listed below the icon.

Other than that, nothing exciting when on this week. I started school shopping for Macie's uniforms...which by the way...Old Navy and the Gap are having some great sales! I will probably head to Kohl's this weekend also to pick up a a skirt or two. Are those not so cute!? I am also loving these socks!

Jeremy wanted to try to plan the menu for this past week. He never did it. I never went shopping for food, so we had what was in our cabinets. Want to know what it was? Salad, spaghetti, leftover spaghetti, and burgers. Tonight, I am not sure what is going to happen.

Alright, that's all for now! And Kara, I want you to start posting weekly pictures of your baby bump - as soon as you start showing!

Have a good weekend lovelies!

What's been going on...

I haven't really had much time to post what has been going on with the family recently. Where do I begin?

Macie graduated kindergarten on Friday! Can you believe it because I, for one, cannot. (Pictures and video coming soon, courtesy of Papa Dave!) They wore caps and gowns and sang us songs. It was adorable!

For her graduation present, we got her something everyone has been wanting.

Drumroll please....

We are sharing it for presents...Mother's Day, my birthday later this month, and Father's Day. I should have know better to send Jeremy out to pick it up. Three words - Tiger Woods Golf.

After the graduation ceremony, they had a field trip to the park and the bowling alley. Jeremy took off so he could help chaperone. (Just call him Super Dad!) He loved every minute of it!

That night, we went to our now called "Celebratory Dinner" restaurant - Shogun's. Macie picked and of course, we waited for 45 minutes for table. I used this time to take some pictures of the girls....which I will post at some point. After Jeremy and I shared some sushi and everyone's belly's were full, we went home and crashed. Ahhhh.

P90X is coming along. We have been sore and walking up the stairs has become a job for my legs. I feel the burn!

I think that is about it for now. My creativity mind is obviously turned off at the moment.

Cute Little Tails

Macie had her Christmas program at school last night. Due to the seating issues they had, we don't have the greatest pictures. In the picture above Macie is the third one from the right, all perched up. The kindergarten class sang a few songs. The boys were donkeys and cows, while the girls were sheep. They even had tails and ears! They did such a good job and it was so cute. I have it all on video and if I can figure out how to post it on here, I will.
Here are a few more pictures:

Here is one of Zoa, playing with my mom's glasses. I think my mom was putting chapstick on her. She loves playing with lip gloss and chapstick, which she refers to as "lips".

School Pictures

Macie got her school pictures back. I think they turned out so well. With school pictures, you obviously can't be there when they are taken so you get them dressed and ready then send them off and hope for the best! I have come to the conclusion that my kids take better pictures when I am not even there. Go figure!

It is crazy that we are officially starting school pictures. The girls have had them since they have been in pre-school but this is official. School pictures. Where did the time go? Sometimes I look at her and I can't believe she is ours. I can't believe how big she is.

They had a dress down day for picture day which Macie was so excited about! It's hilarious how excited she gets over a pair of jeans now that she cannot wear them everyday. But hey, what can I say? I am easily amused too!

Last night, the flu hit Macie full force. She stayed home with me today...so much for the perfect attendance at school we were trying for.

Macie has a fan club!

Macie's artwork will now be published online! The school informed us last week that they will now start publishing our child's artwork here.

You can comment on her pictures, join her fan club, and view most of her artwork from school. I am so excited! I'm sure she will think it is so neat to see her pictures on the computer and read what people write her. Everything gets approved by me so be nice...but really...how could you be mean?

If you would like to take a look at it, you can comment me or email me and I will let you know her screen name. Her pictures will be up within the next few days and I will add some daily. I am not sure how often her school will add them.

Be sure to check it out and have a good week!
